Lap Belt Retractor re-spooling

Looking into re-webbing my seat belt system and came across Seatbeltsplus system and purchased it. Got the kit in and it instructed me to remove the upper front retractor assy and then commence to cut the lap retractor belt. The new system basically negated the lap retractor points and the new one is hard pointed to the lap retractor location. Not too crazy about this, but as per instructions, I cut the belt in order to remove the belts from the retractor.

Been in contact with seatbelt planet and salesperson said that the once the retractor unspools, there's no saving it. Don't much care for the new engineered replacement belt system. Want to keep this as stock as possible. Can the retractor be repaired? if so, where would you guys send it out to get repaired and re-webbed with maroon webbing?

Ouch, prolly just as easy to call some local parts yards or make a wanted ad in the classifieds here. Being that you're looking for the red, most people swap that out for black or grey, I'm sure one would pop up soon . I don't understand why you would have to cut it instead of unbolting in though.

I apologize for wording it as I did, I didn't mean you specifically, I meant I don't understand why they decided it was a good idea to tell people to cut it. I guess they were trying to get the belt guides off the old belts?
