Im looking to convert my 1991 camaro gauges over to the earlier colour scheme and I was wondering if this has ever been done, and if someone makes these.
I've done my research and everyone loves the white faced gauges with black numbers, however that style is not for me. All I want is the exact same style as a stock 1990-92 but in white. I know the current overlay has a yellow tint and thats why people avoid sticking white on top of it. But I willing to do some modding if I can make this work. I've seen similar things done with black faces and white numbers, however none were the same as stock. I photoshopped some examples here.
Re: 1990-1992 Black face White number Gauge Cluster
huh...... I kind of like your stock better. It has better ergonomics. Bigger letters, easier to read, especially for guys over 45-50. I can see why you might want to make it white, rather than yellow. Is it yellowed from sun exposure, or is this how they came from factory?
Re: 1990-1992 Black face White number Gauge Cluster
It was always yellow from factory, all camaros 1990-1992 had yellow gauges/buttons/indicators, however i find the white to be much more clear and modern, especially since i plan to change the backlight bulbs to white LEDs
Re: 1990-1992 Black face White number Gauge Cluster
Yeah those are the ones that I don't really like, has too much of a super tuned performance look, im just looking to modernize the colour scheme. What i dont understand is that the current gauges have a yellow tint, so how come when you stick a black sticker on top of it (ie:the black numbers) that when you shine a light through it, it appears white, rather than dark yellow
