Broke my ash tray today

Apparently underneath the nice, flush plastic cover is a little metal hinge thingy that supports it.

Well today that top plastic cover broke off, so there's just an ugly metal bracket sitting on the top of my center console.

I was thinking of trying some kind of super glue. Anybody else have this problem?

Or can at least recommend a really good adhesive to get the plastic cover to stick to the metal piece?

I might break down and buy the new Hawks shifter plate.... mine is in good shape for the age, but not exactly show worthy.... still want to fix mine though for the meanwhile
