3rd Gen Steering Wheel What's Under Leather?
Anyone here know what's under the leather of an 87 IROC Camaro steering wheel? My 87' leather wheel is in need of repair, way back I bought the same style wheel in plastic as a temporary replacement looks OK for now. Is the plastic wheel under the leather?
Thanks

I removed the leather on mine once it got all worn and started falling apart. Took a good cleaning, but it looked and felt fine. it's hard rubber underneath. I drove it that way for years, including to several shows, and no one ever noticed. Ultimately I did have it recovered though.

It's just luck the wheel under the leather looks as good as it does, my plan was to sell this Camaro when finished so that plastic/rubber wheel was good enough. I have another Camaro almost the same, plans change this one turned out real nice, now I can't sell it
