PLEASE HELP! Need wiper switch info!

*If this is the wrong section for this type of question, please direct me to where I need to be*

Ok so here's the deal with my wipers. They randomly stopped working. None of the settings were working. I didn't even hear the wiper motor turn on. The washer was working though.

I checked the fuse. It's good. I used a test light to see if there's power to the fuse. There is.

I replaced the motor because I thought that was the issue. After this, the only setting that would work is on high but the blades wouldn't do anything. See the video to see what I'm talking about:

Okay, so for some reason, after about 10 minutes, the new motor wouldn't even do that. It didn't turn on again on any setting. So I connected the old motor without mounting it to the car and it'll turn on only on high but it still made that clicking sound. I mounted the old motor back on and now it doesn't do anything.

I checked voltage to see if the wiper motor is getting any. Assuming I did this correctly, the motor only gets 12v on the high setting. None on any other setting. (If anyone could explaing how to do this, I would love to check if I did it properly.)

So now I'm thinking it's the wiper switch. But I want to confirm before I go taking apart the steering wheel. Can anyone give any insight onto what the problem may be?

Also, I've never taken a steering wheel off before. Can anyone provide step-by-step instructions on how to do this? I'm no mechanic but I try to do all my work myself. Any information is greatly apreciated. Thank you.

P.S. I noticed that inside the wiper motor, there is a lock type mechanism that prevents the gears from rotating. What is that? Should the wiper motor be stuck inside that lock?

Re: PLEASE HELP! Need wiper switch info!

Have you tried it with the eng running? Sometimes the voltage isn't enough to fully engage the wipers, even if you've got 12v.
Another thing to check is the blue (or blk) arm on the wiper cover. The arm should be under the pin on the motor.
The "lock" is probably the park position you're looking at when the motor is shut off.

Mine did that but it was because when I pulled the housing I didn't disconnect the connector and when I reinstalled the cover the connector just sat on top of the pins on the motor side. After I took the connector completely off and correctly plugged it in it worked.
