B&M Street Bandit Shifter Configuration
I bought an Ausitn Healey kit car built in 1990. It has a 700R4 trans in it. The shifter performs as follows:
Shifter 1st Gear: Actually 1st and 2nd
Shifter 2nd Gear: Actually 3rd gear
Shifter 3rd Gear: Actually overdrive
Can this be changed so 1st and 2nd are controllable and 3rd and 4th can shift out on vacuum?
Thanks Brian

Shifter 1st Gear: Actually 1st and 2nd
Shifter 2nd Gear: Actually 3rd gear
Shifter 3rd Gear: Actually overdrive
Can this be changed so 1st and 2nd are controllable and 3rd and 4th can shift out on vacuum?

As far I as I know the 700r4 shifts by T. V. (throttle valve) cable and that goes up to your accelerator linkage. Sounds to me that your shifter isn't designed for 4 speed. Just put a Hammer in my 90 corvette and it has a pin you knock out to make it work for a 4 speed. Other wise it works for a three speed.
