Trunk cover?
My '91 doesn't have the lid over the trunk well (this is a pic of a MINT '83) Should it? Thanks.

Re: Trunk cover?
It was an option, not sure of the RPO number. I installed one in my '84. It takes a different rear panel that has a ledge for the lid, mounting brackets for the hinge bar and a bracket on the inside of the rear trunk panel for the latch. I salvaged the brackets from a wrecked 3rd Gen, pop riveted them in place to check fitment, then welded them in. Took a little effort, but it works fine. Nice to have a flat deck there

RPO code is D27. It was a standalone option from 1984-89. Only way to get it on a 1990-92 car was with the factory Bose stereo option (speakers/amplifiers were mounted on it).
I got one from a junkyard to add to my 91 T/A a few years back. Wish I had gotten the rear panel with the lip out of the same car, but I'll rig something up.
If you're going to add one though, I'd recommend removing the gas tank first, otherwise you risk puncturing the tank when you drill holes for it as the tank is literally right under where you need to drill. I'd also recommend replacing the fuel pump at the same time while you have the tank out.

Re: Trunk cover?
Good suggestion in the post above.
I did it a little different.
I wrapped electrical tape on on a drill bit so I had a mark at a 1/4.
Gently drilled out the holes and used some washers and short self taping screws.
Worked fine.
I found my "Privacy Screen" and "Trunk Cover" at "Pick N Pull".
My interior is a black and gray theme so the color is perfect.
