Help with Quick Release steering hub WIRING
HELP!
I'm at my wits end here! I am trying to install this quick release mechanism I got from (similar to the NRG quick release), and every single time I tighten the screws to the hub adaptor, it shorts something out and sounds the horn permanently.
I have checked and checked for loose or frayed cables, screw terminals etc and I cannot find the problem. When not attached, everything works perfectly fine. If I short the positive and negative terminals with a screwdriver, I get a "honk", so I know my wiring is correct.
But as soon as I install it and tighten the screws, it just shorts something out. I thought maybe the splined end of the steering column and/or nut were touching the inside of the quick release adaptor, so I applied some electrical tape as insulation. But I'm still getting a short. It's driving me absolutely nuts!
