Door Panels - Knight Rider Giga-WarpDrive !!! :)
Yes, Knight Rider replica, blah, blah, blah...
I never liked the "stock" color being used to replicate these cars, to me personally, it looks too light, sun faded, etc... I wanted a deeper / richer color, peanut butter / Ferrari tan, so many hours and $$$ of searching for seat fabric, carpet, etc....
I have the carpet... it was the beechwood that was made a while back from ASC (but no longer being made), wasn't advertised on their website, actually found the "special request item #" via a post here... I ordered the passenger area part, but not the rear, since I plan to have bass... but I did order 2 yards of the same color / style matching carpet....
The fabric, found that... tried to get some seats made locally and the guys must of been smoking crack... the lines / spacing was HORRIBLE, and wasted about 10 yards of the material I had... luckily, I had another 10, so I sent them to Acme, who has a pattern for PMD seats (they sell their own seat / material kits) and they made it with my material...
The majority of the door is the carpet (same as floor), for bottom and opening ends... The part where the open latch goes is the fabric, inside the L shape, same as used in seats... The fiberglass pods were wrapped in vinyl... the grilles, same as seat fabric...
A friend and I made the speaker pods, I refurbed the L brackets, had new door cards made (could not save factory ones)... It really pops in the sunlight, but it was cloudy when I got home... the last pic, (of pod and corner) more truly represents the richness of the color...
The pod itself, the part that goes against the door panel, actually follow's the factory line, but I had it shortened... Mine doesn't go as far back as the stock line... And it's just sitting on the panel, will be mounted in right spot on car...
A couple of things I need changed, I have the material, but overall happy with it....

I'm not 100% satisfied, there are a couple things I am getting changed / fixed, I have the material, but over all very happy, love the color... It really pops in the sunlight...
Tomorrow, new T Top weather stripping (been removing it and adhesive, cleaning up areas / t top bar, etc... GM NOS seals

Those seats look great. Did any of the foam have to be replaced. How many yards of material does it take for the PMDs and the back seat altogether?...

Thanks, I would get 10 to be safe... and know that you can send it to Acme (though you have to pay through a dealer, Hawks or maybe a1auto.....
I had 20 yards total, a set of front and back that was done & wasted, I kept the back seat cover since it had a large part of fabric that got used for the doors, then another front back set from Acme, I have just enough to recover the grill covers (which I will be doing...)
As for foam, Acme sends you the kit, I took it to a better local upholster and they fixed any foam issues and installed the covers...
