So i think i’m going to pick up a new set of original grey cloth seats for my 1990 Formula. They’re out of a 1991 Formula and are the same light grey (sand grey?) color and are $250 for the entire set. There are no rips, burns or stains in them so they seem worth it.

Question is, the seller did say that the driver bottom foam is pretty worn out. Am I able to take the foam out of my seat l, which is in pretty good shape still and put the good seat cloth on it from the sellers seat? Is it relativley straigh forward or easy to do? I dont want to try to swap them and ruin them.

 

All the later grays are 'Medium Dark Gray".

Be advised... There are two distinct lower seat cushions used on the typical Firebird seats. One design is straight across the front, the other has a protruding bolster. Obviously the cover and foam need to match.

Most Firebird seats seem to wear out when the foam breaks down, and the cover starts to wear against the frame. If the foam is worn, the cover is probably worn too. FWIW.
