ecm differences

is ther any difference between an ECM in a 1988 trans am gta one with a digital dash and one without ? are the two interchangable ?

Tbi yes , The 88 ecm 1228063 can be swapped out with the later 89-92 1228746
if they are both 88s tbi or tpi they would have the same service number ecm. Tpi is a 1227165.
