2013 Malibu dash swap into 1992 Camaro

I was roaming around YouTube today and stumbled across this gem. A guy installing a 2013 Chevy Malibu dash and console into a 1992 Camaro. Did we loose our creative spirit or we just not updating the forums anymore? Thoughts? I personally love it. Imagine this with 5th gen seats. Would totally change the interior of the car. Any more cool finds?

The forum is only as active as the people who post to it.

Modifications like this often fall under the heading of being polarizing. Most of the custom touches visible in the video are only going to interest a select few people. Looks kinda tacky unless you're into the culture of BIG wheels, candy paint, and huge stereos. It's not for everyone.

The cold weather will be nice in a few months. Chicago... too dangerous for me. Anyway, I’m curious to see how the dash looks when he’s finished. Maybe the dash will fit nice and secure without annoying rattles and creaks. And if the instrument cluster works well with an LS PCM/ECM, this would be a great mod.

I think the dash can look nice. It gives a few more options instead of just the ls1 dash. He doesn’t have videos of it finished so we may never know unless someone here does it.

Re: 2013 Malibu dash swap into 1992 Camaro

Although Its not my taste I would be interested in a follow up video to see the finished product. I think 80's style is much different than 90s and 2000+ styling. The bubbly and curviness of the LS interior and this interior do not flow with the exterior of a thirdgen at all. There are some very nice LS interior installs on this site but IMO they all clash with the exterior.

I like it. Ignore the naysayers and keep us posted of progress. Blue color of interior is not to my taste, but the custom configuration is a welcome change.
