So, I really like the gauges in 91-92 Camaros and have been looking for a super-clean, low-mileage one.

I've come across a pretty amazing 88 model.

Would a 91-92 gauge cluster be a direct swap?

Thanks

Nah, you need to swap the whole dash. I did the swap in my car being I had a perfectly good 145 cluster and dash sitting in my old parts car. You need to remove the two brackets that the dash hangs on, as well as re-pin your cluster connectors being the inputs are in different places on the 90s cluster. You’ll then need to weld or bolt in the 90’s brackets in place of yours. I did this by just drilling out the spot welds.

Unless you have a parts car laying around, or access to everything you will need, I wouldn’t even bother. Honestly you can just get a really nice aftermarket retro-fitted cluster from hawks that will pretty much bolt right in. Plus the gauges will be way more accurate and reliable than the 20 plus year old stock cluster.

I did this in my 84, it's a big project but not too difficult.
You'll need the whole dash, you'll also need to change your speedo from mechanical to Electrical

If you have a parts car, it would be much eaiser as you'll have everything you'll need to swap over as you go.

the bracket your talking about is that the ones on the top of the dash or the bottom?
