new upholstery dilemma

Hi all,
I have a dilemma with my new upholstery in my car seats. So I chose a cloth finish with black borders and light grey center. I like them, they look great. But as I mounted them they do not really match with the car. My iroc is black with gold decals. It looks much better than before but don't match the way I was foreseen it. So I though in changing the decals to silver as an option. I am considering spray paint ( I have done it black to black) the center section, maybe to a more of a yellowish/goldish color, but I am afraid I will screw them up. I don't have a problem to take them back so it can be done professionally. I just don't want to re-upholster all the seats again. Does any of you have a word of advice if that a realistic option?

Stay safe and thanks!

Re: new upholstery dilemma

Pictures would help.

What color are the carpets, headliner and interior plastics? Black?

Changing the decals to silver isn’t too big of a deal and that looks nice on a black car. The emblems on the rocker panels and rear bumper should also be changed to silver to match the decals as well as the wheel centers. The most difficult thing to change will be the accent paint in the wheels (assuming you have the stock wheels).

Thanks for taking the time to answer. Everything is black inside. I do have the stock wheels. Attach is the best pic I could do this evening. It doesn’t look that bad, but different. See below.

Re: new upholstery dilemma

You can always get aftermarket decals to match your interior. Try classic industries or Rick’s camaro.

Re: new upholstery dilemma

I do like the look of the seats with the rest of the black interior.

I would leave it and if it still bothers you after a while, you could go down the road of changing the gold exterior accents to silver.

Re: new upholstery dilemma

I was looking at it this evening and actually the contrast in the interior looks pretty nice, and the light grey make feel more fresh and open.
