Custom digital HVAC and radio controls
I've been searching around and I haven't seen it done yet but has anyone replaced the vacuum actuated HVAC controls and radio with a one piece digital interface? I was looking through my Firebird service manual and I was thinking you'd have to swap the vaccuum actuated flappers in the HVAC box with electrically actuated ones to interface with a digital controller or get an entirely new electronically actuated HVAC box.
I was inspired by a friend's 2020 Toyota Avalon that has an IPAD pro sized device for the radio, HVAC, and navigation and I was toying with the idea of doing a similar type setup myself for my 86 as a project.

I've seen it on another board where they were doing something like that. I think they also had the windows on the interface. No one here that I know of though

Windows... that reminds me that my 86 has manual windows. That would be pretty ironic. Guess I better look up power window and mirror swaps too.

from some research years ago on stuff kinda like this. basically having a screen digitally control and display a/c controls, radio, speedo etc.. alot of the guys back then would build raspberry pi computers to control all of it. theyre pretty tiny and are can be programmed to do lots of things.
thought about that stuff on my current build but i got a vintage air unit im installing in mine.
