I was a window tinter in another life. I can tell you, that you don't need to do anything. The tint shop will scrub it clean so that the tint adheres well. All you have to do is tell them NOT to damage the defroster. They have special pads that scrub glass without damaging the defroster lines. If they are unable, call around and find someone who can. Good luck getting it done in one-piece though. None of the shops around me can do that anymore. Seems to be a dying art.

Shop around, a tint guy I used to know would do laser cut 1 piece for all windows.
