Hatch lock replacement

Hatch lock replacement

I finally found a couple 3rd gens at a mid way pull 30mins from me just for this hatch lock I pulled off this unknown year 25th anniversary rs not to fit on my 89 is there a way I can make it work? Or should I just bring it back and look at the other 3rd gens hatch?

One on the left is mine one on the right is new one

25th anniversary would be a 1992. If I'm correct, they are different from the 1986-1991 pull down motors in the way that they bolt on to the car.

The tan colored plastic pull-down unit is from a 91.5-92. It will not fit your car. Get one from any 86-early 91 car instead.
