Carmine or Black arm rests

I've had my camaro (1987 sport coupe) for 20 years. Trying to restore the interior to the original carmine red. I believe I changed the original arm rests to black many years ago but can not be 100% sure. Is there any way to tell if it came with red or black arm rests originally?

Regardless of what it came with originally, the black ones look better...

Now see....I like the red!!!! My "guess" would be that a sport coupe would have black. My 86 SC with the red interior, came with black. ....I had always assumed that the colored ones came with the deluxe inteiors, BUT....I don't know for sure.
