So, I I found Zack Stewart, (https://www.facebook.com/zackwstewart,) on 3rd Gen Camaro & Firebird Parts Sell/Swap on Facebook, but he is a self employed entrepreneur that owns “Flow State Manufacturing” in Arkansas, and he 3D prints a variety of stuff for cars, and, as best I know many different plastic parts for 3rd Gen Camaros and Firebirds. On one post I saw a cupholder for a 3rd Gen Camaro that he had printed. I messaged him and inquired about a cupholder for my 91 TA, and he was building them.
My car actually has the door cupholders/map pockets, and when I first got the car I realized that mine had broken fastener holes that were damaged and been acceptably repaired, but I wasn’t happy and actually found a set of NOS cupholder/map pockets for big bucks and installed them. They’re still black instead of the interior color, but the interior is trimmed in black, so they look OK for now.
I consider the OEM cupholder/map pockets to be OK if you’re the passenger, but if you’re the driver, and you’re left handed as I am, I have to remove my hand from the wheel and lean forward to grab my 30 oz. Yeti Rambler. (I actually built something for my 4th Gen TA that installs in front of the passenger inboard seat attachment that works well for me. Pictures and explanation upon request.)
Zack builds these for $45, shipped, and they’re great! Received mine in short order, and it installed perfectly. The quality is outstanding, and there is a little lock tab that works as if the ashtray lid was closed in place to hold the assembly firm.
I took some self stick high strength “fuzzy Velcro,” (loop,) and placed it @ the bottom of the cup on the inboard side to prevent rubbing on the console vinyl. I also placed a “ring” of 1” fuzzy Velcro at the top inside of the cup for ease of release of my 30 oz. Yeti Rambler. (it’s a tight fit.) Truthfully, the better choice would be the 16 oz. tapered Yeti Rambler. It does reach the bottom of the cup, and the Velcro still provides for ease of release.
If you need a really good cupholder solution, you should contact him. Very responsive, easy to communicate and work with, reasonable price, superfast shipping, and it is my understanding he also makes dash components.
