My 1984 Trans AM console opens left (left side latch) to right which is a pain because there is insufficient room to fully open the condole lid.
In succeeding years of 3rd gen cars, Firebird & Camaro, ever change the lids to open front (front latch) to back?

My 91 Z has the latch on the left same as yours and yes it is a pain to put stuff in & out of it.

I guess I was having a senior moment. My latch is on the front and hinges on the rear.Originally Posted by BBCSwap
My 91 Z has the latch on the left. Early 3rd gen FB (82-84) consoles look similar to camaro consoles. You could always swap.
