1984 Trans Am Padding on console

Any idea what this padding is on the drivers side console ? Looks factory but odd.

yes it's odd. Yes it's stock. One of my friends 84 trans ams had it. It's weird but it was an option.

That piece is called a knee bolster. They’re usually missing or falling apart.
That one looks in good shape.

Thanks, Strange maybe its so you don't hurt you knee when pulling high G's with such massive HP
