Interior door weatherstripping

Anybody have any ideas for attaching new interior door weatherstripping to the top plastic rail. The old piece looks to have been attached with plastic nubs that will obviously break off when I remove the old.

Re: Interior door weatherstripping

I use staples; large boxes that have heavy items will often come stapled shut. I remove them and save them in my hardware drawers for,.... what-ever.

When installing new weatherstrip on the upper door panel trim I'll line-up the weatherstrip on the plastic, mark the new weatherstrip where I want the staples, drill small holes for the staples in the weatherstrip, line-up the weatherstrip on the plastic again, and use the holes in the weatherstrip as a guide to drill the holes in the plastic. The large staples are a very ''flat fit' so they doo not cause any issues when re-installing the finished door panels.

Works good for me,.. maybe it will work for you !

Fantastic idea, thanks for the input. Now I gotta dig around and find some bigger staples.
