what is it for & do I need it

Im doing an LS1 swap soon and Im not sure what this harness is for Im guessing it for the gauges it go's into 2 squareish plugs on the firewall, but not sure just need to know if I can scrap it or not. I know some was for my stereo but I wont be needing that any more

the harnes you are talking about is for the headlights and other bulbs and possibly cruise control if available. The other harnes is for the ignition power to the HEI, battery paower for the fuse box, various sensor wires, and a couple of other miscelleaneous items. You really need a shop manual specific for your year model to determine exactly what each wire is for.

now that I think about it I do remember some was for the HEI, A/C, fan, and the fan for the A/C don't think its for the headlights because all/most came off of the engine.

oh well guess I need to get a factory service manual

Axle/Gears: 9 bolt 3.70 posi
The two big connectors coming through the firewall, one side (the bigger one) is gauges, power to the inside, and the smaller one is for the headlights and windshield wipers. Another smaller one for the cruise control. HVAC/AC comes through another harness where the heater box is.
