LT1 tuning differences between Corvette and F-car

I noticed that 1994 Corvette LT1s are rated for 300hp, whereas the F-body was only 275. Is this due to physical differences in the two setups (intake/exhaust/cam/etc.) or was the F-car version just detuned? If so, any reason I shouldn't flash the PCM with a Corvette bin file?

It was just a function of packaging.. better intake, exhaust supposedly.. Though like the LSx engines the rating could be artificially inflated to make the vette look better in the powertrain department..

The only quality difference IMO is that they are four bolt main blocks, though again some f-cars got the four bolt also like my 96 block from an SS.

I don't see any reason not to flash the ECM with the file.. though I always keep my original tune as a backup just in case..

No difference between the two besides the 4 bolt block. Intake was only different for where the fuel lines came in and the cams were the same. GM has a practice of not rating other motors that are the same HP or higher that are also put in the Corvette .

The Corvette ones have fancy plastic covers over the fuel injectors that say "Corvette". This adds 10% more confidence to the car which translates to 20% more power, and thats why the Vettes are faster. I put the corvette covers on my LT1 and I dropped like 2 seconds off my 1/4 mile time, so I know it works

I think it is a combo of better exhaust and inflated numbers on the Vette.

Like Coach said, the fuel rail covers work too, though. I should just have found a way to mount my Vette covers on my LO3 and avoided alot of work
