hey guys, im looking to do an ls1 swap in the future but i have a question about it. if i did the swap and had a strut tower brace would the brace still fit under the hood with an ls1. from the pictures ive seen it doesnt look like it would.

i know that the brace is not connected to the engine, but the engine takes up significantly more room than a stock engine 305 or even 350. so im asking if the brace will still fit under the hood with an ls1 as well

My LS1 is a heck of a lot lower then the TPI. It may be wider, but if a brace fits with the TPI it will fit with the LS1.

Here's a good comparo.. Camera angles are a little bit off, but keep in mind the TPI unit is flat. You can see how high the distributor cover is at the rear, compared to the LS1 intake. Even with the coil covers the LS1 is a lot lower.
