LS1 forged pistons and msd

I've been planning to build a 383 stroker out of a gen1 350 block but recently I've had the urge to put a ls1 in and stroke it to a 383. I have a set of power forged pistons .030 over my question is would those pistons work in a ls1 block? Also, would my msd 6AL box work with an LS1. I really love those LS series motors and i already have the t56 set up...so is it also worth it to do the LS1 swap when I have a carb setup 92 RS.

Pistons will not work, I'm pretty sure the MSD will not either, the T56 you have has the shorter input shaft for the earlier blocks. You need to either intall a longer input shaft on your T56 or install a T56 from an LS1

umm, you have some catching up to do.

1. the pistons are TOTALLY diffrent.

2. the LS1 uses EIGHT coils.. one fullsize coil for each cyl. its stock ignition system is MUCH more powerful then your 6AL box.

3. the LS1 uses a diffrent T56 inputshaft, slave, case front and bellhousing... not to say you couldnt use custom parts to make yours work, but it wouldnt be worth the expense.
