LT1 swap and high revs
LT1 swap and high revs
I finished my LT1 swap into my 1985 IROC, and it runs SWEET!! The only concern I have is when I first start the car, it will rev as high as 1800 rpm before settling down into a normal 800 rpm idle. The engine runs great overall. I think the computer does this to keep the car running initially, but should it rev this high? I have not seen any codes come up when I scan the computer. Is anyone else having this problem?

Re: LT1 swap and high revs
I don't know the answer, but my 1999 Saturn SL that i owned for 5 years always did the same thing upon startup, particularly in cold weather. I'd like to know what caused it, but it never presented a problem the entire time I owned it.

Re: LT1 swap and high revs
TPS sensor is adjusting it self, My 86 iroc does it it no worries just as long as it doesnt go to 2500 rpm. Typical Fuel Injection set up.

you can have the program adjusted to set the upper limit of the TPS sensor to keep it from running up that high.
