Quick LSx-related question...

Hey all,

While going through the local ads, I've found one offering a used Walbro 255 for $50. One way or another, I'll need one (or something similar) for my LQx swap anyway...

According to the seller, it was 'used for one month', he had two that he'd used 'as a double fuel pump in a track car' but then chose to go to a single pump that was larger. Part of me says "Jump on it!", & I guess the other half is skeptical. Are EFI fuel pumps one of those things that are generally OK to buy used??

Thanks guys.

I don't see why not. its all matter of him telling the truth.

Have you thought about using an external pump at all???

Re: Quick LSx-related question...

Depends on if he seems like he is reputable. Check his old posts... If you think he is being honest, then Ide say go for it. Thats the pump you'll probably need. And thats a price thats hard to turn down.

I wouldnt go external pump... Not when there are internal solutions that are easy and relatively cheap.

J.

DING DING DING, we have a winner!!!

i was using them for a drag 1g talon. we were running E85 the whole time. we dynoed on one and did not have enough fuel pressure for 42lbs of boost and started to go lean up top, so for a quick fix we used a secondary pump.
Good call Aaron!
