ls1 with a blower?

so i have officially decided to do an ls1 swap in my 91 and i had another thought... has anyone thought about doing a d1sc on their ls1 3rd gen? is that gonna fit or is there gonna be some huge fitment issues due to engine space? just a thought for now... next year it will become a reality!

Man thats a good quesrion. Was wondering myself. I know you can call procharger distributers and order just what you need.. head unit, brakets ect..Maybe even check on LS1 tech and see if those guys could give you measurements. I was lookin on there about Maggie swaps(mannisun??) It would be sick to have a lil roots blower. They sound sick! Good luck

Theres PLENTY of room for a centri screw in the tensioner area but I dont know if any vendors have a bolt on kit that will fit exactly as needed for a third gen. You might be able to get close and then have to mod some parts to make the hood close etc. but there is a lot of room and its totally doable. Hawks has a magnacharged LS1 third gen on a Bird check out his site theres vids and all

Re: ls1 with a blower?

Im guessing you'd need to piece something together...but I see no reason why you couldnt fit a procharger in there. Not much different than the room available in a 4th gen. Might even be easier because the rad isnt tilted back towards the motor as much...not sure on that though.

But Ide say get the blower, then get a cooler for a thirdgen. You'll probably hvae to get creative with the tubing...but that should be cake.

Hawks has a video of that car and its sick... Personally...ide like to someday kenny bell my car. That'll probably come with the re-vamping of the car sometime in the future.
