New project

To everyone on TGO and the ls1 swappers out there happy easter. =D

Just had a minute today, so i figured i'd tell everyone that i've picked up a new third gen, and i'm making another swap.

I've picked up an 87 Firebird formula thats in great shape all around. Arctic white with silver flake, shaved door handles and antenna, and trans am taillights and wing added later. interior is bright red and gray. I'll post pictures as soon as possible.

as far as performance, it has a 3 inch cat-back, eibach lowering springs, strainless steel brake lines, a 4th gen 3.23 posi disc rear and a slp diff cover/ girdle.

as for the motor, i'll be pulling my ls1 from my first project, switching to TEA ported ls1 heads and a comp 224/230 cam, and putting it in the firebird with a built th350.

I'll post pictures as soon as I can. This car is a really exciting idea to me, because i think with a little work and an ls1, she could be on a car mag cover

already an update to the project... i think my th350 is having issues already, and instead of dealing with it, I've found a killer deal on a fully built 4l60e / ptc3200 stall converter as its replacement in the new project.

Man I'm so jealous of you Southern boys! You get all the solid shells I had to search for over a year up here to find a rust free body and that was TEN YEARS ago. Now? They are pretty much all rot boxes or they are someones pride and joy.

Nice car. Magazine caliber swap sounds interesting keep posting

1987s are a fun year - especially for Pontiacs. I'm looking forward to your progress

Re: New project

I've already got progress updates! My friend was pulling the original drivetrain out at his shop and I asked him to do a couple things while he was under there too.

He notched my kmember and welded in a plate, and put in a 3.23 posi 4th gen 10 bolt with an SLP girdle. When the car gets towed out to my house early next week I'll post more pics.
