quick LT1 question

Ok I've read the stickies and im pretty sure I understand it, but just wanna clarify before messin somethin up.

Puttin a LT1 in my buddys '86 z28. The donor car is a '97 z28, and I had read that someone had a more difficult time splicing into the harness with the OBD II setup. I then read that to run OBD I, all you had to do was plug the OBD II harness into an OBD I pcm. Is there anything else to that or did I already read it correctly?

Re: quick LT1 question

There is more to it than pluging a OBD II harness in to a OBD I pcm.

What else has to be done to convert the system from OBD II to OBD I?

Re: quick LT1 question

LT1 OBDII harness is nothing more than a 95 OBDI harness with extra wires:

You're still going to have to splice in the LT1 harness but a 95 LT1 OBDI PCM(maybe 94) will work off of a OBDII harness.

The 97 has a different knock sensor. You will need to swap in a 94-95 LT1 knock sensor.
