97 lt1 replaced with 96 lt1

97 lt1 replaced with 96 lt1
i have a 97 camaro with a lt1 that just blew up and i found a great deal on a 96lt1. will it fit. if no what has to be done

First, I moved this to the LTx subforum where it will get better exposure (even though it isn't strictly a 3rd gen topic).
Second, I'm no LT1 guru, but from what I know, it'll be the same engine. Assuming the '96 is an f-body engine.
