LSX project

havent been here in awhile, i ran into some problems that only money can fix..neways just wondering if you can swap everything (crank rods and pistons) from a 5.7L LS1 in a 4.8L..just wondering if the block and bores are the same..thanks guys..

i have seen post with guys that have bored a 5.3 to 5.7 not sure on a 4.8.

4.8/5.3 blocks are identical

They can be opened up to a 5.7 no problem with just a bore

Just as said, t he blocks are the same between the 4.8 and 5.3. With the 5.3 you can keep the same crank and I believe rods. The 4.8 will need a new crank as well since it has a shorter stroke.

Not sure what your situation is, but if you are buying everything, then the 5.3 might be the cheaper way to go. Otherwise, if you already have the internals, go with whatever block you can get the cheapest.
