LT1 Swap Stage 2, Engine going into car / wiring
LT1 Swap Stage 2, Engine going into car / wiring
Hey everyone, its been a long time coming but the 2.8 is ready to be pulled, I got the cherry picker, and everything disconnected. Tomorrow morning its coming out. I have new SBC motor mounts for my year camaro.
Im hoping everything bolts up like it should, im just worried about the lt1's 4l60e bolting in place, i have the 2.8 700r4 on there now.
I have the entire 96 impala ss harness , and was wondering if i get a vats bypass key, if I can leave the PCM alone.... or should I send it out to have vats delete, and the pcm tuned for my tires / gears , anyone know the best bang for the buck?
I am reallly trying to get by with the stock harness because i dont have 450 to drop for a standalone
any advice before I dive in? anything that you found out the hard way and can warn me of in advance? I will try to post pics and tell all about it as it happens, I will have a few people who can help me

The 4L60E will fit don't worry, stock harness will be fine also. As for the PCM I sent mine here http://www.lt1pcmtuning.com got a grate tune.

The trans mount wasnt the stock location for my 4L60E. I ended up building my own for better exhaust clearance because it was so simple
Have the PCM tuned for what you need. Adding modules to bypass stuff quickly gets complicated and messy
Read over my wiring threads to see whats involved. You can skip them and install the B-body harness mostly as-is but the stock harness is UGLY and routes wierd places. Getting your gauges working that way is alot more difficult
