Re: just got lt1 swapped 91 rs
On the camaros it went to the oil cooler, but on the cars without it, it goes to the lower connection on the radiator at the bottom.
Re: just got lt1 swapped 91 rs
and hook it to the bottom fitting on the drivers side of the radiator. anyone know where i could find a good diagram of how the stock lt1 cooling system flows and works, where the hoses go ect? im beggining to think part of my problem might be misrouted hoses
Re: just got lt1 swapped 91 rs
http://shbox.com/1/93-94_hoses.jpg this link has a pretty good diagram
im gonna change as much of it as i can back to they way it would have been on a 4th gen. so on my lt1 what is the piece that the smaller hose coming off the driver side coolant hose attaches to?

When I get home this afternoon, I'll take pictures of mine to show you how they're hooked up.
Re: just got lt1 swapped 91 rs
so by looking at this diagram http://shbox.com/1/heater_hoses_93-94.jpg and comparing it with this http://shbox.com/1/93-94_hoses.jpg it looks like the smaller hose coming off the driver side radiator hose goes to the throttle body where it then goes to the returning heater hose? does this seem right? i drive past like 8 used car dealerships on the way to work i will leave early tommorow and see if i can get a look under a 4th gen hood. maybe a test drive if it lucky

Top photo is the connection on the driver side of the waterpump, goes to the bottom connection on the radiator, middle is the line coming from the steam line off of the heads and the third is where it connects to the radiator.
Re: just got lt1 swapped 91 rs
ok so this weekend got alot done on the car. changed plugs and tested compression numbers were between 181 and 190 on all cyl so i dont think i have any problem with headgaskets or anything. actually seem like really good numbers. got the steam lines connected to their proper places. and it does run a little cooler, however the place on the drivers side of the waterpump is plugged with a brass plug it looks like. what to do about this? ill take a picture when i get home
Re: just got lt1 swapped 91 rs
well thanks klortho and eveybody else who helped, after i got my steam lines hooked up right the temp came down some, to just under 220 on the sotck gauge. however my gauge pod came yesterday (thanks norcalz28) and i put in my temperature gauge. whadda ya know the temp wonlt go over 195. so anyways seems like the problem is solved. however a big new problem reared its ugly head, so i will have to post a new thread for that
