91' Z28 Vert LS3/T56
I have a 91' Z28 vert (originally TPI 305/Auto) with a built LS3 out of an 08' vette and T56 from Tick Performance. I installed the LS3 this past weekend after prepping the engine bay (new paint, Hawks heater box, new steering linkage, bushings, etc...). The K-member and control arms were chemically stripped and finished with eastwood chassis paint. The underbody was stripped and covered with eastwood rust encapsalator (highly recommend over POR-15). The Moroso LS pan fits great (just need to plumb remote filter). I have a Monster stage 3.5 clutch kit installed but still need to acquire the hydraulics and pedals. As far as wiring, I have a stand alone Mefi 4 system built by CBM motorsports. Looks like a quality piece with OEM connectors. This is a speed density system which runs on MSD's InGenius software.
Although I think I should have almost everything covered, I am sure I will have some questions along the way. As far as wiring, are there any circuits I should retain to keep gauges functional? I am assuming I need to keep basic power distribution, but can forego just about everything else? Perhaps may need some insight from Pocket...
Also, regarding the EVAP.... I will be reusing the stock 3rd gen gas tank and fuel lines, but want to keep the charcoal canister functional. How can I keep this functional? I believe this is controlled by the ECM?
Lastly... The Hawks T56 crossmember I have may be any issue. I like the idea for exhaust clearance, but there isn't a provision to run a torque arm. Anyone have insight on this?
I think that's it for now.
I bet it will be at least a year before it is on the road. There are plans for a new rear end, SFC's, custom dual exhaust to tie into the Hawks headers, C6 brakes, wheels/tires, and new top. Not to mention all the little stuff (plumbing, radiator, etc...).
Here is a picture of the engine installed and a few old pictures when I bought the car.

Nice vert
I would ask pocket your wiring questions. I have seen some people here weld a torque arm mount onto the hawks cross member.

Bump.... Does anyone know how the charcoal canister is controlled? Does the ECM need to see some type of pressure in order to open to the intake? I just want to make sure this is still functional in my build.
