Active Fuel Management...anyone have it on their LSX swaps?
I did a search, but didn't exactly find what I was looking for. I was curious if anyone has done an LSX swap with a motor that has the capability to shut cylinders down, actually has it working? I know alot of the aftermarket blocks you can buy specifically say "no provisions for active fuel management", but has anyone done this and got it to work?

Havent heard of anyone that has done the swap and kept the fuel mang system, the only good thing about it from the performance side would be the fuel economy. The liflters will not tolerate much lift and will fail if a normal aftermarket cam is used. I cant remember off the top of my head what the max lift is but its not much considering what these motors seem to make the best power with. Hope this helps you may look over at ls1tech, I'm sure that there are plenty of guys already figuring this out.

You mean DoD like the LS4 used? Then the owners complained about how terrible it was and demanded it be removed?
VVT from the newer cam phasing is badass, DoD, not so much

I am pretty sure they call it ''active fuel management'', at least its called that on my '09 Avalanche. When I am part throttle or on the freeway using cruise, it shuts down half my cylinders when just cruising at low load.

DOD or Displacement on Demand is just another acronym for active fuel management

The best MPG system out there is your right foot.
Most people ditch it to make good power with a decent sized cam. There are a few companies now that make DoD "friendly" cams now that it's stuffed in more vehicles.
I can only assume a DoD swap wouldn't differ very much from a run of the mill LSx. Get your hands on a engine/trans with the harness and you will be all set. You will be forced to use a drive by wire TB and A6 trans. I don't know of any M6 transmissions with the DoD (I know my G8 GXP doesn't have it while the G8 GT does)
