Hawks double hump crossmember group purchase?

I've noticed a few people are in the trans crossmember boat with me so here it goes.

I think their minimum would be 10+ so would anyone else be interested?

(Sorry if this was wrong to post here but figured it was the only way to get it noticed)

I'll need one and the Hawk's piece is what I am going to go with. Put me on the list.

Does it have to be all of the same type, or can it be mixed T56 & 4L60E?

I already have the 4L60E piece, but may be interested in a T56 unit.

There's another one where people are gonna be wanting different types.

I'm interested in saving on that MAJOR purchase. Are there any GPs on them already going on?

How much do you think you're going to save? The part doesn't cost a lot in the first place.

Re: Hawks double hump crossmember group purchase?

No. I used just about every method of communication and no response. Which is kind of dumb if you think about how many people may buy one for just a slightly discounted price. But I guess they feel they own the market with this piece, which almost makes me wanna make my own...

They are really bad about responding. I have tried to call many times with no luck. I also sent an email and took 2 weeks to get a return!!!!! So I went though brp for my headers.

HAWKS says $99 shipped for either the 4l60e or T-56 x-members. Post up in my GP thread to be included! GP ends 4/8

Old header GP still sorta active...

When Jeni called me back after sending my info for the x-member GP I asked her about the old GPs for Hawks headers that I found in the GP section. Those GPs are closed but she said that for thirdgen.org members Bruce is continuing to sell the 1-5/8 x 3 inch headers at a discount. That discount is a couple of $hundred below the discount price listed on their website. I bought a set. Thought I'd pass it on for anyone still needing headers and that size fits their application.

Have any of you who purchased the crossmember in the GP mounted it yet? Mine is off enough that its not installable without major Modification.

It wont bolt up to the frame rails, or is the tranny mount hole off center?

Re: Hawks double hump crossmember group purchase?

I'm using spohn mounts. It gets lodged between the frame rails and covers half of the bolt holes on the passenger side. If I was to make the bolt holes bigger then it would be way off level, so thats out of the question.

And I know there is nothing wrong with my car because my spohn crossmember fits just fine.

Re: Hawks double hump crossmember group purchase?

Sounds like this coming weekend a good project for me would be to try to do a test fit. My swap is months away but I would prefer to get this resolved before the middle of chaos.

I wonder if they sent you a t-56 unit? I don't know if that would cause this issue though. Whats it look like holding it above the spohn unit? Same mounting angles? Pics would be good!

Sorry no pics cus I had to put my spohn unit back in to use to move the car around. Even if they did send me a T-56 unit it should still mount to the car, and thats where my problem lies.

Its like this one missed quality control or something.....If they even have that in China.....

My weekend ended up as usual with "must do" stuff getting in front hobby stuff. So...sorry but I am unable to report on the test fit I had planned. Will try to squeeze it in again this coming weekend.

Anybody else try theirs?

Hello,
I got my t56 crossmember over a month ago & will not work due to the aftermarket subframe connecters that came with my car when i bought it almost 10 years ago. So I either have to modify it or make another one!

And mine are welded in too................

I had the same issues. E-mailed Hawks and all I got was a "it should fit". Well, if it did in fact fit I wouldn't have e-mailed them, would I?

I had to modify mine to fit and really at that point I should have just built my own.

Re: Hawks double hump crossmember group purchase?

Hi there all! This is Jeni, I am the one and the only one who handles the GPs for you all. Please accept my sincere apology for an absolute oversight of this entire POST. I post and follow all GPs for Hawks. This particular post was under "TECH BOARDS>ENGINE SWAP>LTX AND LSX....That being said, it was an "easy" over look for me. Those of you whom have allowed me to work for you on GPs in the past do know that I take the opportunities that you all allow me to work for you very serious. After now having read this thread in it's fullness, I do see there are posts of interest and posts of complaints regarding fitment, communication, etc. All of which I will address here within.

Again, I apologize that any one of you would be made to feel as though YOU are not important to Hawks, or me. Bruce felt strongly enough about serving you all to bring me back to Hawks to work for you all, and only for you all on GP related sales. Meaning that I do not do RETAIL....my sole purpose with Hawks is to see that you all are offered a total different pricing and to meet your requests for parts, etc, that which has be done withou question or fail since Feb of this year when I returned.

Regarding GPs: Please contact me direct via e-mail and be sure to include your name and telephone number.

Regarding the Crossmember GP: What you want is what you will get! I will more than gladly extend the GP for the Hawks Crossmember at the price of $99.00 shipped to your door (WITHIN THE U.S) for either the T-56 or the 4L60E. THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT! PLEASE VIEW UNDER "GROUP PURCHASES" THE THREAD THAT WAS ORIGINALLY STARTED RELATIVE TO THE CROSSMEMBER....I will extend this for you all and would like to say "THANK YOU" for allowing me the opportunity to work for you.

I bought it (4L60E) through your e-bay store, so whoever handles that is who responded. I only replied in this thread as I felt that the fit was more than likely due to the fact that we all received a cross member from the same batch whether we bought on e-bay or through a GP.

There is really nothing to "fix" at this point as I made the necessary modifications to make it fit. I was just disappointed that it was nowhere near a "bolt on" part.

We're speaking of the recent batch from the GP.

Re: Hawks double hump crossmember group purchase?

While the Easter brisket was smoking I test fitted the T56 type I received. I was not able to put it all the way into place because the fuel/evap/brake lines were complaining but I saw no impending misalignment or interference once they are bent out of the way.

Before you ask questions look at the slots where the bolts go. The center hole was lined up fine I just cut the extra two holes for my Energy suspension bushing. It wasn't even close.
