Few swap questions
Few swap questions
So I have gotten the engine/rear end/gas tank in the car. But now I have a few more questions. I'm going to buy a fuel pressure regulator, what else do I need to finish my fuel lines, it was originally a tpi car so I would like to keep my stock lines, and I already have a walbro 255 in the tank. My wiring harness should be in next week from speartech (It's only been a month of waiting
). I have my radiators on the way, as well as my tranny. Power steering hoses are taken care of. My only known issue is that my steering is hitting the A/c?
IDK what to do about that, and my headers have no spot for rear O2's so I'll be fixing that this week.
I am really down to the wire as I would like to have it done by April 15th so I can drive it to the rod run in Gatlinburg.
My questions are:
-What do I need (other than walbro pump and fpr) for my fuel system?
-why is my steering hitting the bottom of my a/c? what can I do to fix it?
-What loose ends am I possibly forgetting? I'm going to cut it close I know lol.
As always, all help is appreciated.
Thanks,
'Tyler

Re: Few swap questions
Hook up the fuel system and start it I dont see the issue?
As for the AC line yeah its mighty tight there. I bent my AC lines up very carefully as high as they would go and I still had to trim off half the nut/stud on the top of the tie rod with a zip cut to make it clear. I know its a crown nut but those are taper fit so I cranked it down extra tight then cut it off. Four years on now no issues

Re: Few swap questions
what have you done about your pcm? did you make sure to get vats and emissions programmed out?
as long as you have a the correct adapters and connections, your fuel setup should be good to go once you get the fpr
i opted out on a/c, so i can't help there

Oh ok, I don't have any connections for my fuel lines to fpr to ls1 yet.
I sent the pcm off, so it should be back with the wiring harness whenever that gets here.
THanks,
Tyler

If you're using the TPI hard lines with the stock fittings, you need Earl's 9894DBH and 9894DBJ fuel fittings.. Also you should have the AN fittings that go into your AFPR, then you need X number of hose ends and the Russell fitting for the fuel rail and of course enough braided hose to put this all together.
