Ls question

What would be better as far as gas mileage and horsepower, an 5.3 out of a silverado and suv..or a ls1?

Re: Ls question

Both would be about the same, as long as you are using an LS-1 intake. The real factor in fuel mileage using these two motors is going to be the transmission. Might get about an extra 1 mpg out of the 5.3.

Re: Ls question

I got 27mpg highway with a stock 5.3/4L60E with 2.73 gears driving it like I stole it

Stock/small cam T56 swaps see mid 30's, both 5.3 and 5.7's
