Re: what ever happened to lt1 parts
ok i picked up an unfinished project tonight.
block is 14010207-1980-85 4bolt main
heads are 3927186- 1969-70 camel hump heads
super charger i cant figure out. the two sets of numbers on it are 5120726 and 5114442
also came with electric water pump, new push rods, morosa oil pan and a few other things....... did i do good? only thing is a dont like how big that charger is i'm thinking i'll have to go cowl hood. also it has two scare openings for the carbs but id rather have a single carb.. any body know if i can just use one?
any suggestions on what i should do for the bottom end? it has the crank rods and pistons in it but i have no clue what they are. when i break it down i'll run the numbers. please chime in.

Re: what ever happened to lt1 parts
Did you get the rest of the supercharger? the nose cone. pulleys, etc.
I say do it right the 1st time. Buy the best you can afford for the lowerend.
P.S. thats not gonna be fitting UNDER any hood.
should be a great build and a fun car when done. Plan to upgrade the trans, rearend, suspention in the future.

Re: what ever happened to lt1 parts
Looks like a 6-71, but cant say for sure its not an 8-71 from the pic
Either way this is a FAR cry from a LT1 build
Personally, Id sell the parts for whatever you can get. I wouldnt get into that old tech

Re: what ever happened to lt1 parts
Did you trade that for the boat? I hope you got a hell of a deal on it all.
Your going to spend enough $ rebuilding that combo you could have got a LSx combo out of a wrecked car. or a LT1/T56 combo.

Re: what ever happened to lt1 parts
ya i traded the boat for it all. i got more then what is in the pictures. and the boat needed new interior pretty bad. it was a fair trade, i do still need the nose/cone for the charger and a pair of carbs and that should be it unless i decide to do something different with the lower end.... which i kinda am thinking lol a stroker would be fun
i have to pull the bottom out and see what they used before i decide.

I wouldnt put a stroker kit under that big of a blower. Stock 350 stroke, very low compression forged pistons. Those things get HOT

Re: what ever happened to lt1 parts
If you got it COMPLETE id say use it. Then again shop around/ look at swap meets , etc. You could find the rest of the stuff needed.
Look up flirtin1 he has a nice roots blower setup. maybe can give you some pointers where to find the rest of the parts you would need.

Re: what ever happened to lt1 parts
thanks for the tips guys. i think i'm going to trade it for parts i need. i still have to pull this motor apart and make sure everything is good and i still need an intake and carb and headers. i have a guy who offered all of that to me last night for the charger.
