Fuel line connections to 4th gen tank - why not this way?

I've seen several threads on here where people do some weird things to connect to the 4th gen tank. Why not just bring braided AN line to the tank and connect both feed and return with Russell 640850? Or leave the plastic 4th gen lines in place on connect using Russell 640940?

Am I missing something here? Is it a different fitting that will leak or something? I haven't read about anything like this yet and I'm just wondering why.

That will work fine. People have issues with the sending unit being a different resistance and connecting the lines to stock lines

Basic diagrahm, The diagrahm show a stock thirdgen fuel sender. For the fourthgen sender do not order the RUS-640830, and order 1 additional RUS-610020 and 2 additional RUS-640850. The diagrahm uses the Corvette filter as the pressure regulator which will require "gutting" the regulator that is built into the sender. You can use the the regulator in the sender instead of the Vette filter however, you have to tee the send and return lines together (anywhere). The Vette filter is around $50 and by the time you buy the fittings to make the tee the Vette filter starts to look like a better solution. It will take 20 feet of AN line to make the diagrahm as shown. I used the black nylon AN lines as well as all black fittings (same as SpikeZ) and have all the part numbers from Summit, if you want a list let me know and I will post it.

That's what I did. Braided line from the fuel rail all the way back. T fitting by the filter for the return, and braided lines back up to the tank. Works great.

Basic diagrahm, I will post some part numbers tomorrow.
If you use the 4th gen fuel filter and a plain -AN "t", you can save a few bucks because you don't need to buy all the quick disconnect fittings. This only works if you use the 4th gen tank with the built in regulator.

Because I'm cheap, and a function-over-form guy, and aluminum tubing is cheaper than braided line.

Great. Thanks, guys! I know it seemed like a pretty basic question but I've learned that no matter how confident I am that I should still ask before I spend money. I've got a few parts in my garage that I should have asked questions before I bought.
