Should I be worried

I am just about finished with my LT1 swap and am wondering if I should be worried about the rest of the drivetrain. Here is my setup:

355 forged LT1
Hotcam kit w/ rockers and hardened pushrods
B&M shift kit in the 700R4 (set to heavy duty rather than street/strip)
Ramair box intake
Headman shorties through y-pipe and flowmaster

The remainder of my drivetrain is stock
88 700R4 with OE stall converter (or later not sure what actual year)
4th gen posi rear with I think 3.73 gears (rebuilt not 6 months ago)

Will my relatively OE setup handle this engine? I read somewhere that the 700R4 can handle up to 300hp. I am well past that.

Re: Should I be worried

Not sure what the 700R4 can handle. It would be a torque rating, not a HP rating that will break it. Stock 350 TPI's have something like 345 TQ, so I would assume the 700R4 could handle a fair bit more than that. Somebody else will have a better idea.

But regardless, if you break that automatic, you can put a clutch pedal in the car and have some real fun.

Re: Should I be worried

One quick search for "700r4 torque rating" got me this result:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...ue-rating.html

325 h.p. 400 ft.lbs torque

But seriously, throw the automatic away and get a clutch pedal.

Easy for you to say. I just spent $7500.00 to do this swap. An extra $500.00 is not in the budget right now.
