Another LT1 swap question

I'm giving serious thought to doing the LT1 swap as I already have the donor car, 96 Z28. I'm trying to downsize my life & use my 84Z28 as a daily driver. I prefer the power of my 96Z28, but just like the looks, ease to work on, etc of my 3rd gen. I know some will call me crazy to use a completely good car, but just don't need 2 cars as we also have another back up car in household.
I think I'll tackle this swap this June when I have a little extra $ & have extensively read the boards as well as printed out a lot of info. I will also swap out dash, guages & wiring, which should make swap way easier, I'm stuck figuring out the easiest way to deal w/Transmission, keep the 700r4 or swap the 4L60???? Which is easier/ I want plug & play as much as possible & figure swapping the entire drive train would make the most sense. Having said that, am I missing something, based on all I have read it would appear to just swap LT1 & trans from 96 & be happy, any thoughts & thanks in advance for allowing me to bring up this oft mentioned subject....

No brainer. Use the 4L60E from the LT1 car.

'96 is OBD II - not a biggie, but something to be aware of.

Do you have emissions inspection or testing?

Re: Another LT1 swap question

yes, we have DEQ, but I have special interest plates on my car as it is 25 years or older, no registration, no DEQ, so I'm hoping w/swap & my hooker shorties already on the 84, I will have a faster 3rd gen for daily driver....
