Steam Ports?

I've got a 91 z28 with a LS1. Im using the stock TPI radiator and still working out the many bugs. What did you guys do with the steam ports from the heads? I have a hose going from the steam ports an inlet on the passenger side of the radiator, toward the top, however the hoses I use leak, and it just isn't sound.

What is the proper way to do this?

Re: Steam Ports?

I have heard of people tapping the water pump and running it to there.

I was advised by Bruce Hawkins on this while visiting his place to buy parts. I don't have the specs on the fitting he gave me, but attached a picture of what it looks like. Apply epoxy to the threads of this fitting, thread it into the heater hose nipple on the third gen radiator & attach the stock LS1 steam hose. Below shows what it looks like installed on my car.

Re: Steam Ports?

Whether it's threaded or not and thread size seems to vary from rad to rad. I've seen smooth, 1/4"NPT and 3/8"NPT

I use a common nipple like posted with some pipe tape on most. On the unthreaded ports I fab a union tee like the JTR link
