OEM vs aftermarket Opti Spark
OK I need to replace the opti spark in my 87. It's out of a 92 vette . I see the OEM GM ones for about $150, the accel ones for $275. is it worth the extra money for the Accel? the engine is basically stock except for headers and a tune. Thanks pat

I've found the aftermarket modules are terrible. Use a GM module. I have original 22 year old, 160k modules (ign and opti) working perfect while I've had 6 months and one year old aftermarket modules go south.

Why not? Water pumps for these are cheap compared to what they used to be. Though the water pumps themselves are reliable. Timing cover seals leaking are a problem though, might want to check those while you're there.
