Pump Pressures & re-use
I think I know the answer, but wanted to be certain.
I have a low mile, '90 Vette application pump I installed as a new AC Delco part years ago.
In the future, I will do a NA LS engine w/ stock PCM swap to replace the TPI SBC.
With the higher bar pressure used in the Gen III & IV engines, is this pump worthless to me? It needs to be sold with the TPI, if it won't work.
Since aftermarket pumps are often sold that are listed to suit both applications, I'm unsure.
Thanks.

Re: Pump Pressures & re-use
The stock TPI pump is supposed to be enough to feed a stock LS1. The bar is set by the pressure regulator. In you case you would either run the vette filter or an external adjustable regulator to regulate the fuel pressure. As long as the pump flows enough to feed the power you are making you are fine, but depending on the build you are planning you might want to double check that aspect of it.

Re: Pump Pressures & re-use
I didnt have any luck running a stock tpi pump with my stock ls1 and went through 2 ac delco units before deciding to throw in a walbro 250 which cost me as much as the 2 stock pumps.Better to just do it once and upgrade than worry about if you have enough flow later or burn up pumps. This 250 has supported me from a built 383,stock ls1,heads/cam lq4,to my current turbo lq4 over 600whp hitting its limits.
