Ls1 swap loose ends
I am getting ready for the ls1 swap in my 87 iroc. My few questions are about the wiring. I am using a painless wiring harness. Can the stock iroc computer be removed? And how how much stock wiring can be removed? Going for as clean and bare bones as possible. My second question is how are the radiator fans hooked up? Through the painless harness or through the stock wiring? Thank you, Jason

Stock computer goes bye bye
I'm sure there are some connections to the C100 and C207 but don't know what on the painless specifically. I would still read through the wiring threads on the stickies.
I'm guessing they don't have the provisions set up for the fans in the wiring. I'm running the 3 pin coolant sensor from the 98 fbody for my gauge and for the stock wiring harness for the fans. Again read through the wiring stickies and it should be pretty easy to figure out.

Why not get a custom wire harness made specifically for your car by one of the members here, Pocket? He makes a new harness, it's perfect and works with your stock gauges, fans, etc. Get your money back on the Painless Wiring harness and order one from Pocket (Jon), you won't regret it.
