LS Upgrade Oil Pan
I've notched my factory k-member and it fits the stock oil pan great. I'm building up a motor where proper oiling will be a major importance.. Drag racing and maybe a road course. Car is also lowered.
What upgraded oil pans are people running while maintaining ground clearance.
Thanks in advance.

Re: LS Upgrade Oil Pan
The 1998 - 2002 FBody pan is probably the best clearance unless you're running a drysump. If you're concerned about oiling, looking at Improved Racing for pan baffles and possibly an Accusump. We run their pan baffles, oil cooler attachment, and an Accsump for oil control and cooling on our car with the FBody pan.

Thanks for the input! I'm not looking to do anything crazy but want to make sure my 10g investment stays healthy.
Would you recommend the Crank Scraper as well?

Re: LS Upgrade Oil Pan
While the pan may be the smallest sump, with the oil cooler and 2 qt accusump we have 12 qts in the system with 2 qts being pushed by the accusump whenever pressure drops below 25 psi. The accusump also provides a nice pre-lube when the key goes hot prior to starting the car

Re: LS Upgrade Oil Pan
That's a really good point and I'm glad you said that. My oil gets old really fast and I have to do oil changes VERY frequently. I should get off my butt and install an oil cooler because I think I need one big time.

Re: LS Upgrade Oil Pan
My '99 Silverado 5.3 has a cooler, not sure how needed it is. Suppose it doesn't hurt anything. And if you're abusing the car, a cooler is a good idea.
But now that I think about it, the 5.7 in the Camaro is a little harder on oil. I chocked it up to being a little longer in the tooth than the stroker and more street miles. Maybe it has something to do with the pan, smaller oil filter, and more cramped engine compartment.
