Passlock re-teach 2002 411 ECM. Any 2002 Truck BCM will work?

For my swap, I bought a 4.8/4L65E which came out of a 2002 Tahoe. I pulled a 411 PCM from a 2002 Silverado but did not get the BCM nor the ignition lock cylinder. For now, I am not planning to make any mods and will be installing the 4.8/4L65E bone stock. Later, I will install a bigger cam and have the PCM re-tuned, Passlock removed and 2nd O2 sensor removed. For now I just want to get the motor going.

I know how to reteach the BCM with a new Passlock resistor value.

Can I use any 2002 truck BCM or does it have to be VIN matched in order to re-teach Passlock with a new resistor value?

Thanks

Re: Passlock bypass without tune & lock cylinder. Any 99-02 Truck BCM will work ?

Honestly I wouldn’t even bother with the resistors. I would find someone with hp tuners that can just flash your pcm to remove vats, or send it out. I know painless flashes the pcm’s for free if you use their harness. When I did my swap i just bought a pre flashed pcm off ebay for 200 bucks. The pcm arrived with vats, rear o2’s, and evap removed. They also set my fan temp to what I asked. Ran the car like that for a while before eventually having the car tuned.

I will be getting it tuned professionally once I swap the cam later. For now, I was just thinking about getting it running in stock form without any mod. This way I don't pay twice!

Most people here are going to tell you to tune it, but I understand why you want to do this. I'm not sure if the bcm has to be mated to ecm or not.

I planned on doing the same thing. I'm doing a stock 4.8 swap but I'll be building an engine later that will require a tune. I have the entire donor vehicle and my vats was 900ish ohms.

I am trying not to send out the PCM twice.

Do you know anyone that can remove the Passlock, EGR, EVAP and 2nd O2 sensor for reasonable price?

if you mean you're trying NOT to send pcm out twice then yeah i understand.

Im not sure who people send theirs to. If you plan on modding your engine eventually it might be best to buy hp tuners so you can do it all yourself, which is what I plan on doing if I can find a good deal. If I can't then I'll try wiring in the bcm and resistor

I did not realize there are people on eBay performing flash service for cheap and good reviews!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/LS1-LS2-LS6...dXsUO~&vxp=mtr

For $45, it's no brainer!

The reflashing covers only the listed items below:
-Removal of the vehicle antitheft security (VATS) option . This will cause a 2 second start and die symptom if not removed.
-Fan 1 and Fan 2 on/off temperatures. Stock 104/100 108/104 will be used unless otherwise specified.
-Add or delete fans
-Rear gear ratio change- especially important if swapping into another vehicle.
-Tire size-especially important- tire size must be listed as 2xx-xx-xx or tire diameter, not just rim size.
-AC delete-removes sensor, relay monitoring, esp. for older vehicles.
-Transmission type, covering even the older THM350, 400, 700R4, 4L60 (non electronic). Must let me know what transmission you are running.
-Remove rpm limiter* see below
-Remove speed limiter* see below
-Remove emission controls (includes removing the rear O2 sensors)** see below
-Change VIN - only necessary if you are swapping a computer into the same vehicle.
-Change tach signal to match your 6 or 8 cylinder tachometer (stock or aftermarket)
